That side panel is one of the best DIY jobs I've seen!!
I only hope my custom window comes out even half as good as that?!

Thanks..... I have a lot of time and pride in that panel. My only advice is:
1) Make sure thats what you want before you start cutting.
2) Take your time and be careful while cutting, the more careful you are the less clean up afterwards.
3) Have fun because if it ain't fun--- why bother

Sadistic, first off that's a hell of a nice job on the case!!
I'm finally starting to work on an Antec SX1200 server case and will be using the trim, etc. similar to what you used. One major question, in researching for stuff I came across references where the latches for the hdd racks get in the way of the two piece gassketing material used in commercial aftermarket windows. Did you have any problems by doing the "flush" mount and the auto trim?

Have a safe one and again good job!

Thanks, I really wanted a big window that didn't look like it came out of a box.
I was a little worried about clearance between the cage latches and the plex. so I went with the thinest I could find. It's .093". You can get Acrylic thinner I just prefer Plex. What I ended up with is about 1/8" clearance. Close but not touching.

When you start working on your window you'll notice that Antec uses some thick steel. I went through a couple of good high quality jigsaw blades and several cutoff disks just on my window.

Good luck on your Antec and remember the PPE.

I used a jig saw fir everything except the very tight raduis under the door latch, there I used a Dremal. I dont own a hole saw and unless the price of them comes way down I'll never own one.

How big is that hole? It looks perfect for an 80mm fan

Ravix : The hole is 80mm and centered over my AGP, just in case I needed a little more cooling (I don't ). Ive thought about adding the side fan (Antec Red LED) just to have on there, But I don't miss the added dust you get .

Tyshalle : I have no special tool or even a magic wand. I make a living making metal do what I want it to do. All I really did was draw out the design that I wanted, Think about and look at it for a few days. Then just cut slow, take your time, stay on your design line and be careful. Believe it or not there was not much filing or grinding when I was done. The chrome trim is not on there to hide a bad cut, It's there to accent the cut.

Thanks for the intrest, feel free to ask questions or go HERE to read more about my box.

Antec uses thick steel in there boxes, but it cut very easy using a blade with a lot of teeth per inch ( I dont remember how meny but it looked like a hacksaw blade).
