Introduction:
Let me ask you a question, is your monitor the most expensive
individual component of your PC? Well, it is the most expensive
part of mine. So, why don't you take care of it like you do
the rest of your computer? This is when I decided to go out
and buy the Monitor Cooler from 3DCOOL.com.

Overview:
So, you may be asking yourself, why does my monitor need a
fan? It seems to be working fine the way it is. Well, there
is a very simple answer to that, to extent the life of your
monitor and to fix problems with older monitors. I put the
Monitor Cooler on an older monitor of mine; the picture would
flicker on and off. After a couple of minutes with the fan
on there the monitor worked, good as new.
Installation:
O. K., you have just received the Monitor Cooler in the mail
and you have to install it. Well it's really easy to install.
First shut your computer down, take off the side cover, and
screw in the pci cover. It doesn't actually use a pci slot,
just the opening in the back. Personally, I did not use that,
I unscrewed the plastic Molex connector from the metal cover
and just threaded the wires through the gap by my PSU.
On the inside of the case just hook the Molex
connector (the little plug) into a free one from your power
supply. Then take the fan and place it on your monitor, there
is a little hook that holds it there. The hook goes into one
of the holes on your monitor and just rests there; gravity
does the rest.
Results:
After a couple of minutes of having the monitor on without
a fan the temperature was 45.6°C or 114°F. Once I
put the fan on and let it sit for a while until the temperature
leveled out, it was 34.5°C or 94.1°F. For all of you
who don't like to do math in your head that is about a 20°F
drop in temp. It is not as much as they boast in their specs.
I am also thinking that if you had a 15" monitor that
the drop in temp would be closer to 30°F. I have a 19"
Samsung Sync Master 955DF so there is a bit more area to cool.
Maybe I need two fans for a monitor this size. Another number
you might be interested in knowing is the room temp, 21.4°C
or 70.5°F. Here is a nice little graph:

Conclusion:
Overall I am very happy with this product. For a mere $10
you can extend the life of your $300 plus monitor. The Monitor
Cooler will lose a couple of points for not doing what it
claims by only reducing the temp by 20°F, but it still
gets 8 out of 10 stars. Go get yours today, and tell them
